Mr. BetanCourt's first business endeavor came in the summer of 1972. He joined a group of businessman that started and operated a gas station and carwash in the Salinas Valley. Then came the nation-wide gas crisis of 1973 and with soaring oil prices and long lines came feelings of bewilderment and future uncertainties in the economy. "I got my first taste of the business blues, which left me pondering about my future." Yet determined to succeed Mr. BetanCourt clearly defined a new "game plan" and strategy for success and purpose in business.
Realizing it takes more than desire and enthusiasm to make your life successful, and after much reflection, Mr. BetanCourt thought back to his school years when he worked as a janitor after school. |
